About Aldinga Bay Cafe

Set directly across from the Aldinga surf, this low-key Esplanade joint serves robust regional Indian curries alongside golden parcels of takeaway fish and chips. Beachgoers wander in straight off the sand for prawn mapas curry, spiced onion bhaji, and cold local beers while the sun drops over the water. Owner-chef Arbind often works the floor himself—tweaking spice levels to order and firing gluten-free poppadoms in a dedicated pan. The night winds down easily over charred garlic cheese naan and sweet mango lassi.

  • Esplanade Sunset Views: Direct beachfront vistas across the Esplanade provide front-row seats for ocean sunsets over a relaxed meal.
  • Coastal Curries & Fish and Chips: Regional dishes like prawn mapas curry and palak paneer share kitchen space with classic takeaway fish and chips.
  • Chef-Led Care: Hands-on hospitality from chef-owner Arbind includes tailored heat adjustments and custom pan-fried poppadoms.

Thoughtful hospitality, personal chef interactions, and flexible beachfront touches that elevate your dining experience

Guests winding down after a scenic drive can relax without being rushed or hurried out after their meal, enjoying unhurried beachside downtime.

Before you head over

Practical advice on timing, ordering, and dietary needs from customer visits

  • Arrive early for evening dining

Kitchen orders can close earlier than advertised closing times due to heavy takeaway volume, so plan to arrive or order early rather than later in the evening.

  • Discuss dietary requirements with the chef

Guests needing gluten-free or coeliac adjustments can speak with the staff; the chef personally explains dish preparation and can prepare items like poppadoms separately.

  • Pair beach takeaway with classic fish and chips

If you crave traditional seaside fish and chips instead of curries, both options are available to order dine-in or packaged as takeaway for the beach.
