Tweety Bird Cafe flips standard Adelaide brunch on its head with bold Southeast Asian comfort food. Regulars bypass standard eggs for sweet and sour pork eggs benedict—balanced with pineapple and shredded apple—or rich Sarawak laksa brimming with local prawns. The fried chicken waffle comes coated in crunchy oats, while mornings lean into house-brewed kopi and layered matcha clouds. Families grab tables beside the dedicated play corner for the kids' tasting platter of cucumber, fruit, and pretzels, while dogs nap outside along the vine-shaded verandah.

    As a Sarawakian, I can confidently say the Sarawak laksa here is one of the most authentic I’ve had in Adelaide.

    They had something called a “tasting menu” with carrot and cucumber sticks, yoghurt, strawberries, crackers and pretzels. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I think it’s such a fantastic idea for little ones.

    Families dine comfortably thanks to practical accommodations, from quick seating near the dedicated indoor play corner to welcoming hospitality for toddlers.

    As soon as they saw we had our toddler with us, they thoughtfully seated us right next to the little kids’ play corner, which made such a difference and was really appreciated.

    The fried chicken in the waffle dish was coated in oats, which made it unbelievably crispy. The crust had a lovely nutty aroma from the oats, while the chicken inside remained tender and juicy. It was seriously delicious.

    The Big Bird Brekkie was very generous in portion. The mushrooms were juicy and perfectly cooked, and the baked beans had a subtle curry twist that gave the dish a unique and surprisingly delightful flavour.

    I haven’t been able to veer away from the Sweet and Sour Pork Eggs Benedict. It’s a perfect blend of flavours: creamy sauce, savoury and sweet perfectly tender pork, pineapple and shredded apple for sweet and sour balance- highly recommend this dish.
