About Gather & Grounds Cafe

Tucked off Glenelg's bustling main strip, Gather & Grounds hits the sweet spot with an inventive, Asian-inflected daytime menu. Diners turn up for the golden crumb of the chicken katsu sando—balanced sweet and salty—and hearty soft-shell crab folded into a buttery croissant. Sweet tooths gravitate toward the crumbly taro hotcakes, packed with rich ube flavour. Behind the bar, vibrant iced matcha whisked with mango or earl grey shares space with punchy Vietnamese iced coffee and smooth flat whites pulled from Dimattina beans.

  • Asian-Influenced Plates: Crowd favorites feature ube taro hotcakes, chicken katsu sandos, and soft-shell crab croissants.
  • Artisanal Matcha & Coffee: Whisked drinks span iced earl grey and mango matchas alongside traditional Vietnamese iced coffee.

Food is amazing and the earl grey match and mango matcha is phenomenal. Their chicken sando is by far the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time.

  • Warm and Attentive Neighborhood Care

Guests are looked after with attentive hospitality, whether lingering through bad weather or dropping in for an early morning treat.

Service was excellent. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. It was pouring with rain and we didn’t want to walk in the rain with our luggage once we’d finished breakfast. They were insistent on us staying until the rain eased.
