How should I spend a cruise stop in Adelaide from Outer Harbor?

Our ship calls at the Port Adelaide Passenger Terminal. I want time in the city without risking a late return to the ship.

    Check the ship's all-aboard time first, then work backward. Outer Harbor railway station is a short walk from the passenger terminal and trains connect with Adelaide Railway Station, but allow time for disembarkation, the return train and the walk back to security.
